Regulations Concerning the non-MEI users of the Library of Miyazaki Educational Institution
- Article 1
The following regulations, as well as the Regulations Concerning the Library of Miyazaki Educational Institution provide for the necessary matters concerning Library users designated by Article 5, Section 2 of Regulations Concerning the Library of Miyazaki Educational Institution.
- Article 2
The Library, as a local community member and as an information center, offers the general public
privileges to use its holdings and facilities in order to promote continuing education of local citizens, provided that the public use of the Library does not cause inconvenience to the study and research of the students and faculty of Miyazaki International College and Miyazaki Gakuen Junior College (hereafter called Both Colleges).
- Article 3
The following people (hereafter referred to as “non-MEI users”) are eligible for Library privileges.
Residents of Miyazaki Prefecture.
People employed in Miyazaki Prefecture.
Faculty/staff/students of universities or colleges which are members of Miyazaki Academic Library Consortium.
People who have been approved by the Library Director.
A Non-MEI use must show his/her identification card and complete the designated application form in order to obtain the approval of the Library Director.
When the Library Director has approved his/her application, the Library shall issue a Library card (hereafter referred to as “card”) to the user.
Non-MEI users must pay the fees for the membership and for issuance of the card when the card is issued. The following people are regarded as “MEI users”.

A Non-MEI user must carry the card and show it to the Library staff when he/she enters the Library.
Lost of the card or changes in address or name must be promptly notified to the Library. If a user loses his/her qualification, he/she must return his/her card to the Library.
The card is effective for two years after the card is issued. Renewal of the card shall be done by the same procedure regulated in Article 4-1. Also, the user must pay the membership fee when he/she renew the card.
The details of fees for the membership and issuance of the card is provided by another regulation.
- Article 5
Non-MEI users may use materials inside the Library. During examination periods, faculty and students of both colleges will be given priority treatment.
Children user the age of 12 can use materials inside the Library only and must be accompanied by a guardian.
Non-MEI users may borrow materials, provided that borrowing does not cause inconvenience to the research and education of both the colｌeges.
The Library shall provide the ILL services described in Article 21 of “Regulations Concerning the Library of Miyazaki Educational Institution” for the only MEI users.
The Library shall provide the purchase requests services for the only faculty, staff, and students of both the colleges.
Non-MEI users must follow the orders of Library staff.
These regulations shall be effective as of April 1, 1997.
These regulations shall be effective as of April 1, 1999.
These regulations shall be effective as of April 1, 2000.
These regulations shall be effective as of April 1, 2007
These regulations shall be effective as of April 1, 2008
These regulations shall be effective as of April 1, 2017
